Margidore
A few handred of meters from the Lacona beach, is located the beach of Margidore, in the municipality of Capoliveri. It is a beautiful beach of over 750 meters, in front of the Gulf Stella, in the south-east. The beach is easily accessible by the road to Lacona and offers amenities such as bar, restaurant, surfing school, diving center and even a small port. The beach is free, except for a small central section, and is perfectly suited for those seeking tranquility and relaxation. The shape of the beach is special, as it consists of small smoothed and multicolored stones tending to dark, alternated with sandy areas.
Margidore beach is bordered by the promontory of Capo Stella, a long appendix of land that divides the Gulf Stella from the Gulf of Lacona. It is one of the promontories most interesting to visit, offering breathtaking views and landscapes. Spring time is the best period to organize hikes during florescence Scotch brooms creating a really impressive atmosphere… The story goes that Napoleon wanted to fence off the entire area and turn it into an exclusive hunting area.
Laconella
Immediately beyond Lacona, taking the road going to Marina di Campo, about 3 kilometers from Capo di Stella, is located the beach of Laconella. The beach is reachable by car up to a determinated point, then you need to walk along a path of a few hundred meters until the sea. The effort for this walk will worth it.
The beach is small but lovely, made of fine white sand and bordered by a cliff of white stone. The depth is sloping and sandy making this beach suitable for children to play, but also for snorkelers who, bypassing the “Scogli della Contessa” towards Lacona, will enjoy a myriad of fishes and an incredible marine-fauna inhabiting this area.
